Advice on a 70s style bathroom
Comments (21)So if I suggested the following could you tell me if this is going to look right. Floor tiles = keep Wall tiles = paint or replace to white? Cedar walls = keep , sand and re oil Cedar beams above shower and bath = ? Vanity = replace to a white unit with a stone/ granite top in a light colour ? Splash back behind vanity = glass white or blue tiles? Mirror = replace with a much larger one , possibly even one stretching the whole width of the wall Shower curtains = not sure ? Would it be better to have frameless glass with translucent glass between shower and bathtub? Bathtub and shower tub = paint white ? Lighting= lots of LED spots Towel rails etc = new Chrome/SS Thank you for any suggestions...See MoreSliding door window treatment in kitchen
Comments (12)I agree that you need a blind like a roller or roman that goes up and out of kitty's way. Nobody has yet addressed your query about panel glides: Panel glides work best on large doors where there is room to stack the panels when opened. you will lose at least one third of your left glass door panel if you use panel glides and they also project into the room quite a bit....See MoreHelp with 60s /mid mod kitchen
Comments (35)You have a lovely young family they only get bigger. I'ts a shame that you can't find another position for the TV as it would be good to be able to see it from the Kitchen via your peninsular, so as to keep an eye on what the kids are watching especially as they get a bit bigger. I'am feeling a bit over the WIP and the idea of walking into a small often dark space, I really like the narrow hidden pantry (Running parallel behind the kitchen). I also like the full length pantries that can be shallow or with draws to make it easy to find things, with either sliding or opening doors. What height is the wall between the new dining and kitchen...See MoreWindow / Glass sliding door covering
Comments (5)Yip Yah, if you can alter the cabinetry. If all those sections and probably not the bookcase are narrowed to make a gap of 12-15cm, you can have an S-Fold track attached to the ceiling and the sheer curtains will go into the space when necessary. They may pop out a bit, but that will add to the scheme. It is difficult to assess the design scale of those sheers S-fold or Wave track - I usually use white tracks so they disappear and there is one that is only 1cm deep. This is a new way to install roller blinds, which will be hidden. This is more classic in fabric choice, but imagine that the blinds in your situation sit from the ceiling to just below the blocked-in section above the doors - depending on how the doors open. In some instances part of the door stack sits inside, this will mean the blinds will sit about 1cm above - but I prefer to cover all the horizontal lines if possible for a simpler scheme....See Moreme me
