Ideas for pendant lights for kitchen
Comments (23)Hi there, I agree with a lot of the suggestions above. Consider the textures, colours and finishes of your furnishings and artwork and think of the pendants as an opportunity to reiterate some of these. So for instance, if you have some black metal in the coffee table legs, you may bring in some of that in the kitchen pendants and look for say glass pendants with black fixtures. Coloured pendants are fun but they can date a lot quicker - bring in colour in the room through artwork, cushions and accessories....See MorePendant lights for my dining table
Comments (22)It might be worth while to consider the rest of the space also. Your breakfast bar/kitchen is located quiet closely to your dining table so depending on your kitchen space (apologies, I can't see too much of your kitchen from the photo) you might want to think about the overall style you want to achieve for you entire open plan space, and select pendants that would work for both your kitchen and dining. This is a project I worked on recently that shows how two different types of pendants can work harmoniously in the one space that is most similar to your kitchen and dining set up. Keep us posted on what you decide!...See MoreStruggling to choose kitchen pendant lights
Comments (16)I like option 1 too, if you are worried about them not being big enough, can you find something like that, but that is bigger than the 16cm? Also, you could go three, I'm posting our former kitchen reno for you, the bench length is 1600 and our pendants were probably around a similar diameter, possibly slighly bigger, and given how heavy ours were in comparison to what you have chosen I definitely think you could get away with three if you liked the look better....See MoreRug and pendant light tips?
Comments (7)Hi Sarah, I would go with a large rug in the lounge- if you can get all four feet of the couch on it as well as the tv cabinet it will create a clear ‘lounge room’ zone. This will be a costly rug due to the size. You can choose a piece of carpet that you like and have it cut and edged to create a customised rug if your own. Adding a large pendant over the dining table will mark this as another separate zone. I am personally not a fan of pendant lights over the island, I just think they add clutter to the space and have been overused - I’m sure many will disagree. You can have another row of down lights over the island if you need task lighting there and add led lighting under your overheads at the back as an accent light that will create a soft wash of light down the splash back. Finally ( even though you didn’t ask!) the white powerpoint to the front of your island stands out agains the black and works against it, swapping this for a black outlet will help make it disappear....See MoreKK1000
