Kitchen Design Dilemma Hampton/Country Style to suit house
Comments (6)You have a complex set of requirements that won't be adequately addressed in an online forum of opinions. In addition the photo of the style of kitchen that you like is in a much larger space than you have available, and the size of that kitchen contributes to its presence. Without borrowing some space from adjacent rooms for a wider, larger kitchen then I would consider a G-plan with the end of the G being bench height seating with half the stools with their backs to the view, and the other half with their backs to the kitchen, as in this photo. I would engage a design professional to visit, take your brief, measure up and come back to you with a few concepts for the layout. Think hard about how important the symmetry is to your kitchen as it can really hamper creative solutions that are outside the box. It is still possible to have a Hamptons style kitchen, that has presence and is of a formal nature that is asymmetrical. The rest of your home is not symmetrical, and forcing a symmetrical design into a pre-existing space only ends in compromises to the functionality. A good design professional (not necessarily a kitchen designer) will look outside the three walls that are constraining your thinking and options to create an elegant solution, but you will need to pay for this creative service. Comments (15)I'll be the critical one -- that isn't bold , it isn't yellow . It looks like something like Sunflower or Buttercup or something half-baked . If you had been bold , you'd have gone Shiny Bright Yellow and it would have stood out ! Look at bigreaders picture -- even that isn't bright yellow , but it looks a lot brighter and more positive ! Just a thought though -- go out and buy a dozen black gloss subway tiles , and a pack of BluTac , and position them horizontally around the top of the white tiles , and step back . Does that lift everything ? Can you afford the $36 or whatever the tiles cost ? Okay -- now attach them and grout them if you like them . Or don't if you don't ....See Morepaint colour help for grey kitchen

Comments (15)Since your home is a cottage, I feel mirrored is a bit modern but encaustic tiles would be gorgeous, something subtle would be lovely, maybe like this https://tilehaus.co.nz/products/austinmer-grey-encaustic-look-tile?variant=40293687460040&currency=NZD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&utm_term=&utm_campaign=gs-2021-03-24&utm_source=google&utm_medium=smart_campaign&hsa_acc=2523824507&hsa_cam=12611051513&hsa_grp=122872652867&hsa_ad=509293891322&hsa_src=u&hsa_tgt=pla-293946777986&hsa_kw=&hsa_mt=&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_ver=3&gclid=CjwKCAjwh5qLBhALEiwAioodsyZ9Y4FT2OEtSdHfzucjzV59JkZ-Gj3npqr9Q3HQv3GHcgOpw4orjhoCf7MQAvD_BwE Granted I do just have the colour swatch not a brush out or test pot, but to me Whisper White is looking very cream and I'm not seeing any green undertone Are you sure this is what you are looking for? Perhaps try Lyttelton Quarter.. or even better, choose your tile first and select the paint to work with the tile :)...See MoreJE C
