Splashback help!
Comments (26)Hi Kate, I have to agree with you, I absolutely hate that mint green so I feel for you that it just doesn't suit your colour scheme irrespective of how much others suggest this green and blue might go together, personally I don't like blue either so I might not be much help there ha-ha I do think the suggestion of placing a mirror over the splashback could be the best option so that you don't run the risk of damaging any part of the kitchen trying to remove it and I think a mirror could look amazing, catch the light and obviously make the room look bigger too. Good luck. Barbara...See MoreMother of pearl splashback

You will certainly need to grout them using a water mould proof grout. If you found them to be a problem just have them covered with clear glass,...See MoreHelp me choose a splashback for a black-and-white kitchen
Comments (31)Depending on your taste of course, I would introduce some colour - either as tiles or a glass splashback. Personally I think you will need to fill the entire area otherwise there are simply more lines to take in and will create an unwanted feature. We've had a glass splashback painted back and it was super easy to clean. For one kitchen, we've gone for a bright yellow to give it some pop. You can also have photos too but it's not as easy as the file sizes mean that they need to be taken/supplied by a professional photographer. If tiles is your preference, there are many great patterned tiles out now. Good luck!...See Morekitchen splashback ideas
Comments (14)Nope - with all of those different whites they will react and one of them will look creamy or dirty. Suggest you go with a soft grey to pick out the grey in the benchtop. Matching whites and getting it right is really hard to do successfully when the whites are different materials from different manufacturers. Start looking at some of the greys in Johnson's Spectrum range in the 197 x 97 size, get samples and see how they work with your benchtop and cabinetwork in your kitchen. There are lots of other grey subway tile options available depending on where you are.... Best of luck Dr Retro of Dr Retro House Calls...See MorePaul Di Stefano Design
