We will soon be building this home, as our retirement home. Trying to decide at present whether we will put the dishwasher and large sink inside the butler’s pantry (with a small sink on the main bench top), or not. While it would be good to have the mess and dishwasher noise out of sight when guests are over, it seems to me that we will be carting plates and pans into and out of the pantry a lot, assuming that large appliances and food are kept in the BP and plates, cups, pans etc are in the main kitchen. While the exercise will no doubt do me good, I’m not sure if that is such a smart idea for my 60s, 70s etc (I hope).
Just wondering if anyone has done this and if so, have you regretted it? Or not?
We should be able to put the d/washer and sink v close to the door, so not such a big trip, to be fair.
