Ceiling paint colours
Comments (3)Stick with a ceiling white for the ceiling. That with the white trims will give the room longevity as you leave them as is each time you change the wall colour....See MoreWhich white would work here?
Comments (25)Hi all Good forum but I’m thinking that the paint above the picture rail maybe should be a semi gloss not a Matt colour In the 50s the panelling would have been painted with a gloss But semi gloss is more modern and reflects the light I’m presuming your wall colour is matte Try semi gloss above to ceiling ,it dries quite flat but with enough sheen to be reflective and more appropriate for the panelling It will change the look and look amazing...See MoreWhat should I do with this room?
Comments (23)No-one seems to have talked budget . Where I'd start is actually leave the actual room as it is for a start . Eh ? Yep . Take down the nothing curtains . Go for bright colour curtains , depending on the rest of your house . Personally , I'd go for red , or white . Or red and white vertical striped . But yellow , orange , blue , green would all work . A leather lounge suite in white or red , or possibly black . A leafy pot plant in a colourful pot . And then -- a big abstract picture in complimentary colours on the brick wall -- around 1.8mtr x 1.2mtr or similar . Lighting -- stainless designer 12volt spotlights , 3 or 4 on each light . You can point and position to suit , highlight and hide features , and thge lights themselves look good without being instrusive or knocking your head . Basics done for $2k plus furniture !...See Moreshould the ceiling paint colour be white?
Comments (9)You said the trims are in Antique White ? Personally I always try and do the window surrounds and skirtings in crisp white , along with the ceiling . No real reason except thats how I like it . Mind you , there is no way I'd ever have grey or buttery beige walls , just because , and I've never done antique white either -- I suspect I would repaint if I bought a place with most walls in antique white -- in fact , I'd be tempted to do 1 wall with wallpaper , and something like burnt orange and white or pastel yellow ; or grape and gold swirls ; or maroon stripes and antique white ; or something to add some Wow . Everyone is different though ....See Moreme me
