what a lovely room which needs to look the way that makes you happy but you may find that the shutters also get in the way when opened..i wonder how venetians fixed inside the window reveals and directly to the doors would suit? Sheers are gorgeous but i agree the curtain pole doesn't look right: the sheer curtain tops should cover the pole (depending on the track this may only need a different hook to hold the pleats up higher) and as you need something that can be pushed completely out of the way a different pole with proper drawstrings with the curtains tops covering the poles may be the answer: a chat with a specialist who does shutters as well curtains (Spotlight?) should help but i hope you keep the sheers

Hi Joey! If privacy is an issue for you, go with translucent roller blinds. If sunlight is an issue for you, a nice block out blind will do the trick. If both are an issue, then dual roller blinds will be perfect! Keep in mind, when the roller blinds are down you may need to have the louvre window closed as it will protrude into the blind. Hey dreamer and Kate, Great sketch 👌🏽 but unfortunately cannot make any more significant changes, we are signing the HIA contract tomorrow or we miss out on the grant money and will have to start again next year with 30,000 less. We can only put in a window where the fridge is now (for free!) and put the fridge in the pantry. The opening to the pantry is 1.4 metres so it’s not tiny at least. We need to decide by tomorrow at latest. I do think it would be quite symmetrical to have a floor to ceiling window on each side of the bench and the pantry in the cupboard doesn’t really bother me but most people I have talked to seem to think it’s strange 🤷‍♀️

Why can't you just position the rod centrally over the window with a 15cm extra rod from window frame on either side for curtains to collect. With a central opening. dont worry about the off centre. And from your photos I would measure the wall from window to end of wall on each side. It is a minimal difference. Looks more like an optical illusion because wall where the person is sitting is angled. If there is a big space there, stick a nice tall plant there to even if up.
