Comments (20)Congrats, great potential. I agree that a grey like limed white would be great on the walls. The ceilings look lower than some 60s houses and painting both ceiling and walls in the one colour or 1/4 strength can accentuate the height of the rooms. White trim on the skirts and door frames are not too bland but those windows may look better framed with a darker trim. This colour palate will be a great canvas for you to add colour and texture that you indicated you like in furniture, baskets, throws etc. Suggest sticking to painting pre move in and once you've lived there a while you will know what you/house needs. Enjoy...See MoreNeed design help with our living room
Comments (16)Dark wall looks great, as does the square set ceiling. Great starting point. Whatever lounge you get, make sure it's leather! So much easier to look after when you have children of any age group! My 20 year old drops more crap than the 15 year old does.... Go for a modern classic design so it suits the existing room and won't fall out of fashion (fad). A quality piece should last for decades and always look great. I like julie herberts chosen pictures, I'm no interior designer but I think they're pretty good and on point!...See MoreDesign Help please! Laundry and powder room
Comments (20)If the rumpus is going to be used as a family day care room, then I think the powder room should be accessible from there. This will make it so much easier for one person to supervise the kids in the room as well as the one who is heading off to the toilet. Perhaps you also need a wet area in there for cleaing up after messy activities. I know someone with a similar family day care set up, and they have toilet and laundry attached to the back of the garage/daycare space. And then the kitchen is adjacent, this makes life a lot easier for the sole person in charge of the kids....See Morehelp me design our dining room! round or rectangular table?
