Hi ysteb1 I found a tile that looks like a light beach style hardwood from National Tiles. They are long (1200mm) and narrow but I think the look will be nice. They are suitable for a bathroom so going to try them out.

I have a lighter carpet now and 3 grandkids that I look after. It's been down 4 years and needs replacing. I had a similar darker carpet and it was down 11 years and survived teenagers and their friends. If you have kids I would go darker every time.

It can either look really dramatic or too dark, depending on the size of the room as well as your other components. I've attached a couple of images of our work using dark tiles, the smaller bathroom we have surrounded the bath with dark tiles but then balance it with an extra large mirror to bounce the light around the room. The larger bathroom we have taken the floor colour way onto the wall but used a different texture on the walls for drama. Hopefully this gives you more of an idea but you shouldn't to nervous of the room being dark, it's where you can create a contrast as well as textures. If you are after an all black style kitchen I have several recomendations: 1. I recently used Caesarstones "Night sky" as the countertop complemented with Naval Sandblasted "Black Pearl" laminate for the joinery. It looked fantastic and was very sleek. I also incorporated matt black sink and tapwear to keep it clean and minimal and then the surrounding walls were lexicon half. Hopefully we will have photos of it soon to show you but the progress looks fantastic!
