it's ok Oskuee, I still haven't really finished the lounge, really? this is a great website, I can refer back to comments and advice for future reference as well. I definitely want to find a nice light/s for over the table, I just don't know what will look good, I have been scouring houzz and a few other sites trying to find something that might suit and perhaps improvise with as well with a similar/replica? I still have a couple of pieces by the dining table I want to sell or swap? as I had my eye on a beautiful 2mtr long 1mtr high buffet, but for $3000+ (perfect dimensions and look) Which hides all the dishes and glasses and a built in hidden wine rack : ) I couldn't justify spending that much so have an empty space waiting for something to come along? I have even considered trying to build my own? but don't want it to look banged up either? hehehe

Good Morning! Just thought i'd weigh in with my thoughts for you... I think that for the size of the room, you currently have too much furniture in it - in terms of seating. And the pictures don't quite show - but what is the relationship between the seating and the TV? Personally, I like a sofa and the arm chairs and would possibly consider losing one of the sofas. Pazz's suggestions are great and relevant. I would upsize the rug and purchase it in shades of blue/grey and bring out those colours in artwork and other soft furnishings such as cushions and lamp shades. Also change the orientation of the rug and coffee table to work with the room rather than fighting against it. I'm not a huge fan of wooden furniture pieces except if they are a highlight - If it was my room, i would paint the coffee table and the TV unit - there are plenty of paints on the market that don't require a massive amount of prep work - such as chalk paints. That would also soften the look. Overall - consider how you use the space currently and how that room interacts with the rest of your home as a whole. Good luck! Jo

I will put measurements for my pantry and vac on tomorrow morning. I'll offer another suggestion . I assume you have a TV somewhere along the wall where the sliding doors are ? Take out one shelf at the end of the lounge -- the one that has the word Home on it -- redistribute everything or move some to other rooms etc . Put the TV there . Then swing the couch around and make it almost a natural break . At an approx guess , you'll have somewhere around 1.5 metres extra , so probably move one end of the couch towards the wall , giving somewhere to walk through . That then leaves about 1/3rd of that area for dining . Having said all of that , like others , I still can't understand why you want two eating areas side by side , surely the logical thing is to have 1 eating area , using the largest of the tables etc ? And on that vein , and the fact that there isn't a TV in view or on the plan , is it possible you also have another lounge or family room or rumpus room etc somewhere else too ?
