Hi Joanna We love both! A common misconception we've found with freestanding baths and spas is that they're simply be too heavy to move around for cleaning purposes. To make cleaning manageable, our 100% Australian made baths and spas are manufactured using Gelcoat composite construction which is extremely strong yet not overly heavy (5mm thickness to ensure structural rigidity and increased thermal properties). So one of our baths is typically around the 40-50kg mark which allows most people to easily slide the bath out from the wall for easy cleaning access. Hi Teresa, since you've only just moved in and are not sure, I would suggest wait and live with it until you have a clear directon on how the overall space functions, what your storage pressures are and what your over all style is likely to be. Putting time into a piece that you might remove would be frustrating. Removing a piece now that is functional and fitted is hasty. Budget how much you have to spend on the room and what the room needs. New cabinetry such as this replacement value is quite a few thousand dollars so consider the direction of the room first style wise, then imagine how that piece could be re-born. Once you've done that, if it ruins the flow remove it. The aesthetics can be enhance with a colur change in paint or lime wash but I think it will always be best in the look tha tit is sine the fireplace is built in but loving it with some restorative finish whether it's wax or varnish would give it a lift. It looks like it still works well and the fact that it has the cornice fitted at least has had some thought put into it. Good Luck

Here is the rest of the floorplan oklouise. The built-in in Bed 2 is 600mm and in Bed 3 is 550mm, and this space is in addition to the measurements on the plan. Walls could be moved about, but we need to be able to live-in during renovations. Also the slightly wider section of hallway adjacent to Bed 3 acts as the main entrance so it really needs to remain at its current width to be practical. The 'study' is more of a study-nook in an extension of the hallway leading to a detached garage and workshop, so that is why there is a external door. Thanks for any ideas you can offer.

Really regret not putting one in ours. My husband takes forever to shower which means me having to decamp to the other bathroom to do hair etc. we have a huge mirror in the walk in robe and with some foresight, this could have been avoided...unless I put a timer on the shower!
