Colours to go with Colourbond Ironstone roof
Comments (34)Hi, we are extending upstairs over a older red brick home. we have Ironstone windows, gutters, roof. We are going to render the extension but don't want to go lighter like a Dune colour but more of a medium grey. We will be replacing our posts and garage door with timber (also have a timber gate) so I feel like we can get away with a darker grey upstairs render. Do you know a good medium grey that goes well with Ironstone? Initially I was thinking Simone Weil and maybe even Guild Grey if it's not too dark?...See Moreexterior colours that go with colourbond Basalt Roof help!..

Comments (11)Hi Craig, YES - it took a lot of research, but I was able to find a supplier that had "new old stock" of Colorbond Headland (Mack Bros in Melbourne). And they had everything, the roll for the corrugated iron sheets, guttering, ridges and valleys, even the screws. So many things worked out in my favour - my roofer in SA had an account with them and he was happy to deal with them, the valleys arrived and were much larger than what we were expecting (apparently, in the eastern states, the valleys are made larger/deeper than here in SA as they experience more storms - with climate change and more severe weather planned to occur, this was an unexpected bonus), and the end result worked out beautifully Before... After (with new Headland roofing) Rear extension. We've received so many comments over the course of the project, and I must say that I'm still surprised that the colour was discontinued (it really does look like a terracotta colour in real life). Good luck Craig! Dino...See MoreRuth BT
