Yes- that is a very good question!!! I've been trawling Australian suppliers for months for something different. I also need Appliance Pulls (for integrated DW and Fridge), which there is very limited choice of here. Everything here is same-same China made mass imports. I literally ordered my hardware last night from: www.knobbrands.com They do ship to Australia. At least I hope so!! I've ordered them and paid! Without knowing your budget, you could check out www.englishtapware.com.au They stock some high-end UK brands. I did go and view them in store and they are beautiful handles/knobs and fabulous quality. I couldn't justify the $500/each for appliance pulls when I need 4!. It was a real dilemma, I hate it when I see something I love and absolutely can't have it!! I tried some on-line vendors in the UK, and had no luck with them either. I can update you when my handles arrive.

Thanks everyone. Our doors will mostly be open and no part of the door actually sticks out. They are completely flush with the door jamb. Hence the edge pulls that go along the spine of the door. And because they are completely flush, the handles/pulls cannot protrude in any way from the door. We too have a privacy lock on our bedroom door. I'm now leaning towards having flush handles on both sides/faces of the ensuite and study doors. As per the pantry and dry room doors, I think handles only on the side you enter are required as you're never going to close yourself in these rooms (unless you want to escape the kids).

It would not be unusual to have black knobs, handles etc and different hinges. It is personal preference though.

i think Kate's suggestion of the island parallel to the window fits better within the limited space as there isn't enough walkway all around with the island the other way around..i've included a 90cm x 1800 island which should allow for 45 deep drawers along both sides as attempting knee space and stools risks blocking the critical walkway through the dining room ..there should be enough space to move the fridge into the kitchen space and include a stacked wall and steam oven with appliances in the corner base cabinets NB the 1050 x 900 corner base cabinet allows for 45cm + 30cm bifold door that allows easy access into the deep base cabinet for big appliances .. there's wall cabinets and maybe a wall mounted MW cabinet but the direction of MW door opening will decide best location and if possible a MW stacked with the wall and steam oven would be a better use of available space and consider open shelves across the kitchen window to create a back splash window affect with open shelves for display and use the old fridge space and the rebuilt cabinet at the end of the pwdr room for pantry storage and, while you have a plumber employed, would be an excellent opportunity to install a tiny sink in the powder room
