What colour paving?
Comments (28)The period and style of your home suggests gravel as the medium of use. Grey, not blue and fine. Some products have clay 'fines' amongst the small gravel that enables the product to compact really well when laid properly. You can push prams etc over it without a problem. Paving and concrete cause drainage problems with runoff warranting drainage to accommodate excessive run off. Gravel and aggregates absorb the water. The cost is much cheaper but also looks totally better. The sustainable alternative is always about thinking differently....See MoreOatmeal or grey pavers for my pathway? Please help
Comments (8)So I ve gone with grey pebbles next to the mulch and mixed white/grey round next to it, under the window. Am going to have a flower bed in the tree ring and a lawn where u see the loose soil. Does this look ok for now ? 1) I ll put pavers later here as the shop is out of paving sand. I can go dark gray pavers here but would oatmeal or cream look out of place (check 4 th pic ) ? Considering its next to red brick, mulch and neighbor s oatmeal driveway ? 2) I can get 600 *300 pavers. 3) As for plants, I am doing more in the backyard where i get a lot of sun. In the front, I ve got a succulent rockery, murraya hedges, tree flower ring. Could u recommend some bushy, shade loving plants I could use in pots next to the window ? Thanks....See MoreWhat is the white on the limestone pavers?
Comments (14)I checked the pavers that were left over from the same batch...low and behold 2 out of the 13 pavers also had the same white streaks on them. These are unused pavers. I'm now leaning towards the manufacturing stage and the retailer I have convinced of the same. He is sending someone out on Monday to see if some sort of chemical will clean them. I fear the worse but let's see how it goes on a couple of them. I agree with you all entirely, the streaks and scratches should have been seen before laying and not used. Luck is what I need for Monday, failing that, block your ears as I ask the pool renovator to pull up the defective pavers and lay new ones.... Renovating tests your body, mind and spirit sometimes lol...See MoreColourbond fence colour for White House and pool area?
Comments (7)you may find that you have a local powder coating company who can recolour the Colobond fence.. probably more expensive but better finish than handpainting and the neighbour may be interested in having the other side done as well (but you could also get a quote to replace the steel sheets and just hand paint the posts) and we always use very dark grey on fences and Colorbond Wooodland Grey is excellent fence colour...See Morejackster17
