I think that anyone that shaves their legs in the shower would appreciate a seat. careful placement of your shower head is needed as you will be surprised by the splash when not having a door. ours does not have a door and the splash is minimal, hard to explain so here is a pic. My in-laws shower also has no door and the splashing is quite a lot and the bath mat is always wet.

its seems like the garage has been divided into 3 x rooms all roughly the same size. one is a little bigger which i assume had been used as the bedroom. the middle room where the entrance to the converted garage/granny flat is the living room and then the kitchen/shower room. There is a toilet outside just a few metres away. So if i make the above room as the toilet/shower, then move the kitchenette to the middle room? seems like it'll be more work since the middle room has no connection pipes (ie. for water) so would need to extend it. Is it practical to keep it where it is?

Wilson, one way to accrue a list of potential builders, is to drive around your area of Sydney and make note of which builders and building projects similar to yours as well as those who are currently building houses you admire. I would compile as many as possible and be discerning in your list. You might also notice how long particular builds are taking and if tradesmen are regularly on-site. I realise in Sydney this could be a big job, but it may well be worth your time. Then, check out the builders' websites to see their projects and any reviews. As you move closer to short-listing builders, make an appointment to meet with them to show and talk about your project. You will get a better feel for who you think you can work with, any creative ideas they may have to improve elements of your plan, reduce building costs, etc.

thank you for the suggestions & the photo helpful I get down to a ushaped kitchen with a 2.2m island & sink maybe across the U and a servery bifold window - does this close out the room and make it look crowded ceilings are 3.1m OR the island butted close to sliding doors which looks like an island when sliding doors are opened like the photo Also does the window splash back add very much in a small kitchen with no outlook from this window, that is the splashback window spilts the attention focus and doesnte seem to add much to the overall perspective. Is a more traditional title a better option & shift all of the focus to the large sliding door opening & garden.
