What shape is it? Sure sounds like an interesting sink. I don't think it will matter if you like it. It's not like other kitchen layouts are curvy!

Ok, so we don't need engineered stone in our kitchen, as we have it there already, but we just had more of the same stone installed in our new powder room & ensuite to match the kitchen's earthy colour scheme. We do, however, need to choose a natural granite for our alfresco kitchen as engineered stones are not covered by manufactures' warranty in our situation. So, I stick with engineered and natural stones for the long term bench top of choice.

Hi Bianca, I have just seen your post. I personally think the best answer to your question will depend on a few other considerations because it really depends on the kitchen layout as a whole. Considerations may include; how will this affect the work flow in your Kitchen and what are the alternative positions available to you? Importantly; how big is your island going to be; an Island can be a great space for food preparation, meal plating, as well as the island being a social space for family as well as when entertaining. When placing the Sink in an island you may consider a sink also needs adequate additional space each side of it for the various functions it is used for; whereby placing a sink in a small Island can sometimes take away from the other benefits it provides. There is actually no clear yes or no answer, but to consider your Kitchen layout, appliance placements and its work flow as a whole. With the other things you have already mentioned here, I hope this extra helps in your decision process.

Hi Reta, the oliveri spectra sinks are a stainless steel sink with a coloured coating. Yes they will scratch just the same as stainless steel sinks do. Oliveri do however supply these sinks with bowl protectors as a standard inclusion; which will help limit this wear. I don't know if your are aware that Oliveri also have a black sink range called Santorini which are made in the same way as Reconstituted Stone Benchtops are (like the materials such as Caesarstone is) with the same durable wear properties too. If you are concerned about the patina with stainless scratching over time, then the Santorini range may be an alternative to consider. The Santorini is very Scratch resistant as well as stain resistant, bacterial resistant, heat resistant, impact resistant, and colour stable over time.
