I wish to thanks those that have replied. I need the information on a "look a like" wall fire place, that looks like flame but is no heat. I have found a you tube that shows using a dvd player in a screen in a false opening that replicates a fire. I would like a commercially made item, and also the information to contact the company.

Hey Dounia The colour and the way it has been painted is very much what we saw in the late 90's and early 2000's when we all went through the textured paint feature wall craze. But, saying that Paint and design technology have come a long way since then and I would encourage you not to give up on the copper idea and use a modern approach and product. Hi ronmarg77, Personally, I'd take that lovely fireplace and turn it into a feature of the room! It already has that lovely brickwork around in that gives it a theatrical feel. I would suggest moving that armchair away from the fireplace to open up the wall, and mounting the TV on the wall as well. The colour palette of the room is quite neutral, so adding a splash of colour via a rug or some cushions would elevate the appeal. Depending on what the other side of the room is like, you could add a potted plant to throw a splash of greenery and colour to the room. You could then fill the emptiness on the wall that's either side of the fireplace with some lovely art pieces. These would keep the room cosy, but not clutter up the floor space, thus allowing the fireplace to still be the main feature. To really maximise the warmth that a fire brings, I'd recommend some warm toned pieces, such as this dyptich, Rock and Trees, by popular artist, Penelope Oates. which size fireplace you choose will need to be decided by the available fireplaces to suit your needs (ie heating capacity, fuel, location of flue, overhead beams etc) so i'd start with the fireplace insert and then work all the other details from that..but, you should add scale sized furniture and suitable walking paths to the room so that the seating is angled to suit the view, the tv and the fire and you might find that the alcove with the bulkhead could be a better location for the TV and/or fireplace and storage wall
