Paint or stain front door on the internal side?
Comments (9)I agree with ctwalker, if you paint the inside of your front door white it will blend with the inside of your house especially as the door is in your lounge. On the outside a stain will look great and if you keep a path going to your front door people won't have trouble wondering where to go. All the work your doing looks fantastic keep up the good work :)...See MoreI need colour ideas for my front door please
Comments (25)Normally , it is me saying red , orange or yellow for the front door , so its actually great to see just about everyone else suggesting that here ! And although I agree if you are keeping that door ( and it is a nice door ) then the bold colours would go great , and it probably doesn't fit your Kung Fu scheme haha , but how about a similar door but in a really nice solid 'strong grained' timber with a rich mid brown stain ?...See Moreideas what colour to paint front door
Comments (2)Just a few things to consider. Front doors are special doors, and I think they always look great if you paint the same colour on the outside and on the inside, as well as the edges. That way you never have the problem of where to start and finish the outside colour, and there is no messy edging where two colours meet. Your whole exterior could do with a freshen up as it is looking a bit tired and dated to be honest. I would not paint your front door until you have worked out your colours for the rest of the house. I would use the brickwork as a starting point, as you would not want to paint your brickwork, and find colours that are complementary to your brickwork. Part of your external colour solution will include a front door colour that works with the rest of your new external colour scheme. If it was my home I would be considering a soft green, like a light Eucalyptus colour as a starting point to complement and off-set the strength of the terracotta brickwork for my external colours, and perhaps a deeper, darker Eucalyptus colour for the door. If you can't visualise how colours work then you may be best engaging a colour consultant to help you prepare as colour schedule explaining what colours should go where if you decide to update the front of your house beyond just the front door.
