Not sure what colour cushions will suit my brown leather lounge
Comments (92)Hi Blufitch, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The four coffee tables are lovely, but I would probably opt for one of the two top ones. That being said, check the measurements first as these round tables might be significantly larger than your existing Ikea table. Re the potted plant, a taller one would be better, or you can put this one on a plant stand or even on a ceramic stool. But if you feel a mirror would be too much due to your mirrored splashback, leave the plant as it is and hang a framed print above the plant. It doesn't need to be big, but it's important that it s not too small so it doesn't look too "lost" on the wall. It's hard for me to judge the size from here, but a 70x40 frame might be ok. You could have only the yellow canvas above the couch, but you would have to bring in a few more brightly-coloured cushions or throw onto the couch, to compensate for the empty wall. Alternatively, you could also hang a large mirror above the couch. If you decide to do this, I think it would be best to move the canvas back to where it was, and hang the mirror in front of the window, so it reflects the natural light around and gives more depth to the room. The large Ikea Stave mirror (in white stained oak) is very reasonably priced and would work great. Just double check it fits first (it's 70x160)! Tell us how yo go! Comments (69)We had a pole house with timber floors around the pole. The builder did a fantastic job and recessed the floor timbers slightly into the pole, so there was never gap. Furnishing around the poles can be interesting - indoor plants are great - but realistically, your focus will be on the outside views during the day, and it will only be nights that you will think about the poles/inside :) I would probably put a couch on the view side of the pole facing the views, with plants this side - and no-one will really notice the carpet....See MoreIdeas for family living space please
Comments (30)Absunitha, I would love to know what you finally decided. I’ve just noticed you posted this last year. I actually love terracotta tiles. They are a funny fashion. I’m nearly 60 and have watch people embrace them with great enthusiasm, only to pull them all up a few years later, claiming they have no idea why they ever thought to use them. This is usually as people decide to wall to wall carpet everything and so the fashions change again. Tiles of any style are the most durable and easiest to clean. They add colour and texture. I also loved your very comfortably cushioned couch. I thought the blue complemented the the tiles well. I found a picture that proves this, that I’ll include. I also have a design for your living area that you may not have thought of, that would allow for a larger group to gather and watch sport, concerts, or non gender biased movies together. I based my measurements on approximates, by using your tiles as a rough guide....See MoreHELP. What would you do in this Living Space?
Comments (28)I wouldn't lower the larger TV , even though technically it is a bit high if everyone is sitting , especially children . On a plain wall , it would look a bit funny mounted lower ( too much plain wall above it ) , so its a compromise between looks and technically correct . But also , with the smaller TV over by the kitchen , I'd want to keep the 2 at approx the same eye level . Just as an aside Rob ( the OP ) I have done a similar setup , but I have used Picture In Picture to have my front security camera in the bottom corner of either or both TV's if I want , and by connecting it via 'input 2' rather than an HDMI hub , I can easily make the security camera the main picture ( push 1 button on the remote ) -- its a good trick if I go out or go away to leave 1 TV on showing the picture that is also being recorded -- that in itself may discourage someone breaking in ( peak through a window and you see yourself on a TV ) . Anyway , each to their own ....See More- 3 years ago
