OK it's ugly, but think it through. It looks like you've had to get down quite low to take the photo - when you stand up is it better, or worse? Could a blind or curtain take it out of your view without costing a fortune and if you're really unhappy, move it when you have the cash. Of course, if you have that now, I would get it done straight away so it doesn't become an ongoing issue for you. If you move it now you'll probably never think of it again. If you can't afford to do that, look at the other couple of options I mentioned. A blind that moves off to the side, rather than up and down, could be the go for that. Then I'd be sending the photo you have here to several plumbers and find out who could move it for you and at what price. Obviously they'll have to come an quote properly but if you have someone saying it can't be done and someone saying it can, you need to sort that out first because it may not be an issue at all.

Anything is possible if you really want it, however every solution has a cost and without knowing you full circumstance its hard to tell. So heres a few examples of typical fixes to discuss with your designer: With the right 'scabble' (breaking of concrete) you can create a setdown deep enough to 'screed' (thin layer of concrete applied to the new void) to get the falls required for a kerbless shower but this will depend on the current total cover of concrete (if you break out too much it can compromise the structure). If your home is on a 'joist and bearer system' (timber or steel frame) you could 'comp up' (increase the strength) of the supporting 'members' (frame structure) to reduce their depth which will give you a lowered floor area, then a 'topping compound' (similar to screed) could be applied to the new set down to create the falls. Likewise changing the placement of the joists from 'stacked' to 'inline' could provide the same outcome without the need of comping up. Remember you have engaged them to design your dream not the other way around! Always get what you pay for.

obviously there's no comparison with true daylight but, where you can't have a true skylight, the Illume (and other brands of solar powered light) are excellent... we have one in an internal bathroom and two in a big south facing room to add some extra daytime brightness..they're much cheaper to buy and install and so much more flexible to position than anything that has to have a hole in the roof and ceiling and there're no loss of heat or risk of leaking...the other advantage is that the fibre optic cable that connects the internal "light" to the external solar panel is about 9 m long so the solar panels can be positioned on the sunny side of the roof ...only problem is that because they look like light fitttings you have to get used to the fact that you can't switch them off during the day although i believe that some of the Illume lights can include an electric light for nightime use (which might be better than multiple fixtures on the ceiling) ...they have several different and custom sizes and can also be installed vertically on a wall and could make a great feature above a door in a hallway or to create the look of highlight windows in an internal room....we're very happy with ours and will add some more

@Ryan Baker - Thanks for reaching out. Your question is difficult to answer without seeing your property. In general, a ducted system can be installed in either the ceiling or underfloor when access is available. Both options provide airflow although, underfloor installations will be slightly more energy efficient when heating as hot air rises and ceiling installations will be slightly more energy efficient when cooling. However, the difference is not significant and would not cause much of a difference in energy costs in most situations. Also, you have to think about access not only for installation but also for future servicing and maintenance. Say for example a duct tears in the years ahead, how challenging will it be to repair if in the ceiling vs underfloor. This may be the reason the installer is suggesting ceiling installation, but again it is challenging to say without seeing ourselves.
