Comments (18)Your mockup scheme is similar to our master bathroom we just completed - photo below. I know you mentioned storage being a concern - our mirrored cabinet has offered an amazing amount of storage in a very small space and also helps bounce light around. I was worried about black taps etc too so we kept chrome fixtures but added in a matte black candle and black potted orchid to create a similar effect which we can change out later on. Our floor tiles are dark but because they are semi-polished they actually bounce around a lot of light and don't make the room feel dark if that is a concern. We also have a huge fiddle leaf fig in the corner (not pictured) which adds a really nice feel to the space - a plant like that could help bring in the outside greenery in your bathroom. Instead of the storage tower you have to the left of the vanity could you do say some floating wood shelving, possibly with baskets added for more hidden storage? You could also bring in the 60s theme with what you displayed on there eg. photos as you mentioned? In regards to the window - a previous house we lived in had a window at about shoulder height in the shower - as well as letting in heaps of light it was amazing for storing toiletries etc!...See Moregrout-free shower ideas
Comments (2)sounds exciting but i wonder if bugs would move into the space behind the glass and what would you use on the floor? i have seen a whole bathroom including the shower done very successfully with a render used for swimming pools and usually painted but this one was just plain concrete colour with a slatted timber floor mat in the shower, timber vanity, white toilet and handbasin and it was gorgeous, good luck with you tile free shower...See MoreOpen shower next to bath. Good idea or endless cleaning?
Comments (4)We have a shower with a single pane of glass and no door. It’s works perfectly and I love it. We made our opening only 500mm which is plenty and helps reduce splash. Yes, a bit of water does spray a little onto the floor tiles but not a problem in our bathroom layout. If our water pressure was super strong it might be more of an issue. We have a linear drain under the shower head than spans the width, with the whole shower area falling towards it slightly. Nice and neat with no awkward diagonal tile cuts. Every time I see a photo of that layout with the freestanding bath within the shower area I immediately think how dirty the bath would constantly look. I wouldn’t do it for that reason....See MoreIdeas for long skinny ENS
Comments (59)Ok So I may be repeating other here on here! I do not like the internal bathrooms and toilets. I would much rather see the ensuite on the outside wall and robe in center of house. WIR doesn't matter but fresh air and light in ensuite is a must to me. Enter main bedroom between the two. Also the kids bathroom and loo which needs to be a powder room so then you do not need the other one in center of house, find a way of them being on an external wall. maybe up with laundry? I really cannot see the use of such huge pantries....but then we are all different. I love our db shower: 1200 x 900 with two roses: he is 6 ft ++ and I am 5 ft nothing so roses stay where we each need them!! Cheers Margot...See Morekiwikaryn
