How to style my entry?
Comments (15)I like it as is. I'd maybe consider a feature pendant light (or three) in the "void" above the stairs going down, but with the unique ceiling I don't think it needs it. Maybe a piece of art on the upstairs wall that is directly opposite the entry door. Something abstract / simple so that it looks nice when viewed from a distance (i.e. the front door). Otherwise, is there anything you *need* in the entry? For example, a bench or stool to put on and remove shoes? A small table to place mail, keys, sunglasses, etc. Some hooks for umbrellas, coats, hats, etc? A mirror to double-check your appearance before you leave the house?...See MoreStyling help with entry hallway
Comments (11)I would just LOVE a space like this in my home, for I would agree with dohraime above and keep the flow and view into your lounge space free-flowing. One can never have too many views to gaze at! I would make the space say "library" and: - keep the wall unit and include plenty of books - keep the gorgeous floor lamp - add 2 small lightish coloured, plain or patterned comfy chairs and a small coffee table underneath the stairs - add a complimentary console table on the wall opposite the stairs - add a large stylish mirror over the console table to bounce light around the fairly dark space - add a generously sized, patterned rug with some lightish colours in it, round or oblong, whichever you prefer. If the comfy chairs are patterned, ensure the rug coordinates with them Oh .... And a statement pendant ceiling light as well even though you have down lights already good luck!...See MoreStyling our entrance
Comments (10)I know you've mentioned a console in your brief, but I wonder if an interesting occasional chair with a round side table and lamp might have more impact in the space? I would then place a complimentary piece of artwork on the blank wall. From the images you've shared, you have room to successfully place a chair the space... I think it would look very welcoming....See MoreEntrance - styling ideas
