Our IXL Tastic is still going after 10 years of daily use. The heat isn't super powerful but we have ducted heating so its neither here nor there. The fan however is quite good. Not saying the Tastic is the best but its still going with the original lamps......and it was cheap to buy and install.

contact an electrician and they should be able to find a suitable replacement and also advise about how to cover any gap

Hi, If the exhaust is to be vented outside and is not being mount on an external wall then consider using an in-line fan. This is an exhaust fan that has the motor and fan blade element located inside the ducting. Because the motor and blades are not located directly beside or on top of the opening, the result is considerably quieter than conventional fans of similar performance. In-line fans come in many sizes including very powerful units that have blades far bigger than most ceiling mounted units can support. To ensure the fan is sufficiently sized you need to determine the volume of the bathroom. With some inline fans it is possible to have multiple inlets (exhaust openings), so one fan can cover multiple areas/rooms. An in-line fan can only be used if there is sufficient void to carry the ducting. Important to consider access to the void in case the fan blades and/or motor require maintenance. Finally an in-line fan will cost more to buy and install. Hope the above is useful.

Hi Libby In all our bathroom renovations we use the Kado Lux 250 LED Exhaust Fan from Reece. The Kado Lux also comes in two other options including with heat Kado Lux 3-in-1 Heat Lamp Exhaust and without LED Kado Lux 250 Exhaust Fan. We use these fans as we have found them to be the best looking with the fan being powerful and effective. This is the new model that has come out but we have not used or installed this as yet. Kado Lux HiFlow 250 LED Exhaust Fan Square and Kado Lux HiFlow 250 Exhaust Fan Square. I hope this helps.
