Hi Michelle, While bathrooms are very much my area, exhaust fans aren't as they are installed by an electrician. If you know one (or even perhaps call an electrical wholesaler?), you might be able to ask them what brands are the most reliable (i.e. what doesn't come back for repair/replacement). You can have a pull up range hood built in to your bench top. Think Smeg does one called downdraft. They have been out a while, so might be more. Basically you install behind your hot plate and pull it up when your cooking.

We have a similar bathroom, walk in robe set up. Exhaust fan is in shower recess. In Perth also. No problems with moisture build up. If you have fan only in wardrobe, you are letting the steam get to wardrobe. If the fan is in the shower recess, then most of steam is extracted immediately.

Hi Libby In all our bathroom renovations we use the Kado Lux 250 LED Exhaust Fan from Reece. The Kado Lux also comes in two other options including with heat Kado Lux 3-in-1 Heat Lamp Exhaust and without LED Kado Lux 250 Exhaust Fan. We use these fans as we have found them to be the best looking with the fan being powerful and effective. This is the new model that has come out but we have not used or installed this as yet. Kado Lux HiFlow 250 LED Exhaust Fan Square and Kado Lux HiFlow 250 Exhaust Fan Square. I hope this helps.
