What at a fantastic find Rebecca. I also have a cork floor, and have found it faultless....even though it will be replaced. I'm not sure why it is so overlooked, as I'm doing the same despite knowing its benefits firsthand?? it needs to be featured across design, maybe it's just not marketed, designers are doing themselves a dis-service, but perhaps it needs a marketing shake up. Hi Alyaa just confirming a few things for you. Definitely pull the sofa and pair of chairs away from the walls approx. 20 cm. The current trend with rugs is to run them 20 to 30 cm under the front legs of the main seating so any rug needs to be much bigger. I like your use of texture and self pattern in the current one so a new one that's similar just larger would be good. Your colourful, patterned scatter cushions are fine for adding some pattern as well as colour but I think you need a block coloured one in your green tone to sit in between each pair. See Oskuee's scatter suggestions above. I like the block coloured green one, second from the top. A large piece of art as suggested by Gallery 360, positioned to the left of the sofa that is against the 3 tall narrow windows will add more personality. On the side table, a table lamp would add ambience. Either of Oskuee's drum pendant light fittings would be perfect. Avoid any light fitting that is mid-century modern in style as this does not suit your design style. On the coffee table, create a single grouping (vignette) of three pieces of varying heights rather than four separate pieces that crowd the top. Lastly if you were able to get a second matching side table for the opposite corner between the two sofas that would be great, as I would describe your style as modern classic and pairs work well.

Barnes.... I actually know of a product that cleans that off with ease!!! It's new has had testing and has been through the process of intellectual property and is now currently under production. If you are interested I can try source you some.

Hi Sandra, what a beautiful room you can make, I would love your fire place, my thoughts would be to go the lighter colours including painting you panelling, as a few others above have suggested keep the trim and wall colour similar, big floor rug as suggested also. Our sitting room is 4x4 metres, when we first moved in, I painted it quite a dark pink shade and had way too much dark furniture from our downsize that I thought I could not live without. After two years of trying to make myself like it, I finally heavily culled furniture and changed paint colour to a very light grey tone. It probably isn't my perfect colour choice but heaps better, I also purchased some lighter profile furniture, I sit in this room so often now, I just love it, it has gone from a room I tried not to look at, to a room I really like being in. I will put a couple of before and after in for looking at darker colours to lighter colours from very similar angles
