I really like the rug and think it goes fine with furniture. Love your dining table and chairs too. Agree not to have the patterned blue throw. It seems to me the furniture placement around the rug is a bit off. i.e. There's something in each of the 4 corners and then a big circle in the middle. I am by no means an expert, so feel free to take my comment with a grain of salt.

Rug looks good. Don't get rid of your coffee table. Just slightly sand the top and pick an antique white or light grey paint with primer already in it and give it 2 coats. It will come up great. wouldn't take long to do. Add a tray with candles and small artificial plant, *& would look great. Good luck.

We have blackbutt timber with a low semi-gloss finish throughout the house. This is our second timber floor over 15 years - last one was water damaged. In that time we have had 2 teenage kids, one of them nick named ‘Gigantor’ so you can imagine the kind of damage possible! The new floor has a crazy Irish Terrier pup sliding and skidding all over it and so far no scratches. The wood floors have been fantastic to clean and have been very hard wearing - some scratches and dents are unavoidable but I still think timber floors look and feel so much nicer than tiles, especially in a gorgeous 60’s house.
