Different rooms will need diff solutions. You can hang blinds on the windows themselves or mount blinds or curtains on wall above window, just make sure they are mounted out far enough for the window to be tilted open and with curtains that you can draw them back clear of the window to allow it to swing open. Looks like you have wall space in the living pictured.

Hi Dreamer, the screens are inside the window frame but not the block out blinds. If I leave the screens and have a sheer curtain that would look good but unfortunately people would be able to see through into the room at night time when the room is lit. Hi Kate, I guess I could have the block out blinds cut down. Good idea though. I may save up and get a new white block out blind and white sheers. Thank you both.

Assuming the front balcony is north facing, and the side window is east. I would do shutters on the French doors and the windows that are either side of the doors. Shutters on the other windows as well. My reasoning is, roller blinds will knock back and forth when the windows are open. If you are sleeping with your windows slightly open for ventilation then this can become annoying. Your home lends itself towards a plantation shutter vibe. You can position the shutters for full sun or partial privacy and everywhere in between or completely closed. Roller blinds are restrictive, they are either open or closed. You could always add sheers or full curtains on the side large window if you wish. The balcony shades the front windows. It really depends on your budget.
