Hi Polly, we usually do not recommend polished concrete for outdoor areas to our clients as it can be very slippery and become dangerous. Exposed or even honed aggregate can be a great option instead. Easy on they and the feet! You would have a wide range of colour to pick from and walking barefoot wouldn't be an issue. Have a look through the patio projects we have done in the past with decorative concrete so you can start visualise how your could look like.

Hi! We've just been through this issue and like you I initially chose a lighter colour, as I wanted a stone/sandstone look and chose Dulux Tully Grey. We tried it out and it was TERRIBLE! So our painter suggested a darker colour, Basalt which I think is a Berger Jet Dry colour.....Also YUK! It looked blue on our place. Back to the drawing board. We ended up with and are EXTREMELY happy with Dulux Grey Cabin mixed into a Berger Jet Dry non slip paint. I don't have photos yet but it was difficult to get a match with a lot of timber balustrading being painted in Hog Bristle 1/2 and accents of Monument (its almost black) all this against those colonial sandstock type bricks... I don't envy you but dont give up! My suggestion is to get as many sample pots of paint as you can....paint large sheets of paper and fling them around in different spots, during different times of the day, in sunny spots and in full shade. Bearing in mind, concrete paint will be flat and not semi gloss like the sample pots so a little imagination is key. Good luck!

Yes pressure clean thoroughly, then make up a concrete slurry, apply with a trowel, add texture with a those cheap green scourers. I would paint the rim around the pool in Colorbond basalt, (nice against the blue tiles) All the rest, including the edging on the path in colorbond Windspray. Will make the path looker wider, will be easier to paint and more modern. Then I would paint the fence in black or monument. Maybe choose Berger jet dry non slip.

Visit Bunnings or similar painting store. Purchase a concrete exterior flooring paint. Ensure that the existing concrete is cleaned completely, maybe pressure clean first. Then paint on with a roller as per instructions.
