I love the claw foot bath but if i was ever lucky enough to put one in I would make sure it was in a wet room, the idea of cleaning under it makes me shudder

We've just renovated and have 3 bathrooms. no baths. Large walk in showers. We did, however, do the plumbing for a bath in the largest bathroom in case we ever sell it. We don't take baths, so no need to be cleaning the dust off it constantly.

Depends from size of the tile. Full tile between edge of the bath and bottom of the niche looks better, If you are planning mitre around the niche.
