Polished Tiles in a shower

HI, does anyone have any advice about putting a polished tile in a shower? I am using polished tiles for the floor and want to continue the same tiles into the shower recess? Will this just create a huge SLIP hazard??

I personally wouldn't risk it due to potential slip hazard. Perhaps test a tile at home.

We have polished tiles in our ensuite and I'd never do it again. They are very slippery when wet - and it's not just in the shower that gets wet! And also they show up every mark. When washing the floors you can't just mop, have to dry as you go along or the water marks show when it dries. They look great when they are all cleaned and dried but a huge effort to keep them looking that way.

I used to have tiled floors at the old place ..the whole downstairs was tiled ( lounge, study, living room , kitchen, laundry) terracotta ones..not cold at all contrary to what people think .. the kids loved riding their trikes around the house as it was massive open living space 36 squares in all. we had a wool rug where the living area was so kids can lounge around.. I find tiles are easier to maintain than floor boards.A quick vacuum and mop is all it needed and it hid the dirt well..whereas floor boards collects dust and hair etc.. Timber floorboards are nice to look at..the floating /laminate looks cheap and nasty I'd rather tiles instead.

Hi there, Depending how many tiles you have, a feature wall would be a great use for polished granite, particularly behind the vanity & mirror. With the right lighting it will have the opposite effect of small & gloomy = spacious, chic and sophisticated. Also the size of the tile can contribute to that "small" feeling but 305mm sq is large enough not to. Keeping them on the walls will also help your budget as not needing to apply a non-slip coating. If you're able to have your vanity 'floating' then continue the black all the way down which will have a great effect on the space too. Hope this helps James. Kind Regards, Carol

Polished tiles on bathroom floor? They should be slip rated. May get away with small tiles and big grout lines

have you checked to see if the tile you are laying in other areas come in maybe a matte finish ?
