Hello Northstar 1 thing to remember when choosing your lights .If you want the light down choose a down facing lampholder, dont drop them to low as the GLARE from the globes in your eyes every time they are on is annoying as, every lit pendant you showed had an incandescent globe so if your going to use Fluro globes they will look worse.LED globes with a cleeear glass would be best. Avoid carbon filament even though they look great its a low light output. Depending on your budget take a look at Mondoluce on line they have some amazing glass pendants from Italy and in multiple sizes.

can't speak highly enough about our Solar Skylights they work like a solar powered light fitting on the ceiling (or wall) connected by a fibre optic cable that's about 1/2cm thick and fed through a small hole in the ceiling and either out under the eaves or ridge capping (or wall for a downstairs installation) to a small solar panel outside that can be about 9m away...we have both ILLUME and ARCOL brands and are very happy with function and DIY installation Solar Tubes are also excellent but are restricted in position as they need a big hole in the ceiling and a big hole in the roof with a tube approximately 30cm is diameter that can't be more than about 2m away from the ceiling hole and are restricted by teh internal framing of the roof and because they create a hole in the roof and potential rain leakage they are best installed by an experienced installer or roof plumber we purchased our first one about 3 years ago and they're now available at both our local major hardware stores starting around $200 each depending on size

They all look good, but it all comes down to clearance. How low is your ceiling? How tall is your tallest visitor? How long is the light fitting? Will the light fitting look good if it is close to the ceiling, or will it look cramped and foreshortened? When I moved into my current home (with a taller ceiling than yours), I got an electrician to hang a row of pendants down the length of the hallway so they would be 5 cm taller than my family's Uncle Colin (who was by far the tallest regular visitor). Now twelve years later, Uncle Colin has passed, and my little boy (who was six years old when the pendants were hung) has grown to be 192 centimetres (6'6") and needs to duck everytime he goes to his bedroom. Hi Harry, in a Hampton Style and of a Large Scale for this dome, you may like to consider these below. These range from top image to bottom image; at 600mm diameter 660mm diameter and my favorite framed within your dome at 750mm diameter in a classical American Hampton style. Hope this helps, Malcolm.
