Well the green brightens up a dull facade.
A cedar garage door would look great with windows. Then reasess, I think a light or bright colour is needed to liven up the bricks.

Remove the awnings, and replace with a awning that has no pattern. I’m actually thinking black awnings. Yes, all the green has to go. Agree a cedar look garage door would be good. Painting the weather board side in a dark charcoal to match your brick. Paint out all the balcony trim in black. Does your budget stretch to replace the blue colorbond roof? If not, then do all black painted trim and a colorbond blue garage door to match your roof. But my preference would be black trim and cedar garage door. With new roofing. If you keep the garden a beautiful luscious green, this will look wonderful against a dark home.

Oh and remove the orange paver in the driveway or paint it. That is dating the home also, and just looks out of place.

Great house, love the bluestone, you could change your garage door as suggested or grab a grey paint that would highlight the bluestone, then you could paint the garage door and the trims, pressure wash your driveway, update the planters, plant up the garden with more structural plants, add a dark mulch, to highlight your plants

I'd offer a different take , and I guess it depends how 'authentic modern' you want to be , and also budget .

I reckon 'just' do the garage door in charcoal ( monument ot even move towards a dark steel blue , although that may then look like a continuation of the roof colour ? ) , and the rest of the green boards in an off-white . Surfmist or similar , an off-white with a blue hint , will tie in with the roof .

The awnings with the orange stripe will tie in with the paver design , the stonework is classy and neutral , so although not truly modern , its more modern and more integrated , as well as being 'budget' -- good bang for bucks !

To go more 'modern' still , you'd need to paint the blockwork in an off-white ( ruin it IMO ) , the garage boards in say a sandy tone , a cedar door , redo the drive , new awnings , frameless glass on the upper balcony , etc , etc -- it would be easy to blow $50k upwards , but I'd ask two questions -- firstly , why ? But also , how modern is the interior ? IMO its pointless making the outside look 10 years old , then walking into an interior that is still similar to 35 years ago , so all up you spend $200k , and it loses a bit of character and you don't gain much .

Paint the garage door a close colour to the roof , then paint all of the remaining green areas , including the balcony posts and balustrade in a white . Replace the striped awnings with white ones .
