kids room please help fitting furniture

So one of my daughters room will be slightly bigger than the other (huge mistake!), it’s causing a huge argument between my kids cause one can fit an ottoman at the end of bed and the other can’t! It’s making me feel like a bad mum! First world problems I know but I want to do the same for both. I am Posting here because I always find that my online buddies are an amazing help !! I need to fit a double bed ( smallest I found is 188 by 138 an ottoman ( here is where the issue is ! Which is 90 by 45 ) and an desk which is 110 by 50. From my calculations I’d have .0.65 from end of desk to ottoman chair won’t have the bed behind. Will it work ? Thoughts or ideas 💡?? Thank you so much 😊

What will the ottoman be used for? There are some great 450mm x 450mm square ones. Or a nice round one.
The rooms are not huge. Vertical storage would be better. The children can have their ottoman at the end of their beds when they have their own home.

If you can't change the purple blinds, try and tie them in with layered cream, beige and chocolate brown bedding. A natural wicker style light fitting with matching side lamps. Above the bed, perhaps a large wicker wreath with a few sprigs of lavender (real or not) threaded throughout. If there's room, a chair painted or covered. With the chair you could choose floral or striped, as long as there's Browns, 'soft mauve' with touches of lemon. At the foot of the bed, you can purchase a cheap polyester doona, cut it in half and dye it the required colour. I've done this and it works well. I've then sewn wooden buttons at all the quilted points. Good luck.

No single chairs (yet). The blue lounges are 100cm deep by approx 198cm long. I did place them adjacent one another to see if I could have that configuration but the one against the external wall extended past the door opening and it just didn't look right. So I presumed a cnr sofa with the short side against the external wall or sofa with chaise would probably be the best option. It is possible that I could get a 2 seater but would have the challenge to make sure it complemented the three seater rather than clash. There appears to be more choices for rhf sofas than lhf.

Hi! We'd suggest you place a small sofa facing the fireplace with 2 lounge chairs either side making a U shape, then a coffee table between the fireplace and sofa. You'll need kitchen stools too. 3 meters between the kitchen bench and far wall is tight, you might be able to squeeze in a small round table. Before investing in the furniture, sticky tape large pieces of newspaper then cut them to size to represent the sofa and lounge chairs on the floor. That way you can see what exactly will fit. The present layout sort of works , but the fact you sort of have a hallway through the middle is fairly inefficient . I suspect I'd put your TV on a cabinet , just in front of the sunroom wall . Why I say that is because my gut feeling is most noise will transfer through ( or under or around ) the glass doors , not the wall itself . If you have the TV over the other side of the room ( the wall closest the front door etc ) the sound may even carry directly across the room , whereas 'pointing back' from that wall may actually get less transference . That means you can use the whole lounge , people can walk through , but around furniture if need be -- a couple of chairs along what is presently the 'hall' if needed/desired , for example . If there is still too much noise ( remember not all BNB guests are mute mouses too ! ) , depending on how often it gets used and whether you also use it too , you might have to consider removing the doors , and framing and walling the cavity .

I’d offer the kid without room for an ottoman a hanging chair. My kiddo has one and loves it.

I’d probably put the bed on the bottom (of your pic) wall, the desk in the top left corner and only have one bedside so the bed is slightly off centre. Then the corner on the other side of the bed could have the chair.

Ours is one from a local store but have a look at Temple and Webster. You don’t have a lot of space so try and get one that’s more macramé-ish than hard cane.

Also thinking to have her desk inside her WIR (like the pic ) to create more room in the bedroom like the photo . Just need to make sure that the WIR has enough light

Renata, from one internet friend to another I have to say if you have to put the desk in the WIR of your new build something has gone wrong alone the way. I’d rethink the WIR - with a normal built-in alone the same wall you’d have much the same hanging space but a much more spacious bedroom with room for a desk out in the light and freedom. 🌸🌺

Thats true bigreader, what I am thinking is to go back to the idea that we had previously which is a study nook :) think it will look nice .

Thanks Kate This is what room looks like now, posting a pic of what we were planning to have in the WIR ( table in WIR is like a make up table with Hollywood mirror ) My daughter seems to be more keen in having a large WIR rather than the study nook . So I’ll think I’ll leave as its (with large WIR) and at a study desk somewhere in the room. Think there’s room for that . Thank u ☺️
