Wine rack, shelving & bar fridge under stairs?

Hi guys :)
I have this ( see pic) under the stairs ,it’s a wine rack and shelving under the stairs.
I was thinking what to put on the shelving, and was wondering if a small bar fridge (pic attached would work and look ok?)
The shelving rack is 1136mm in height, so Im thinking to make: first one with 520 mm clearance from top ( have fridge there) , second and third to have 308cm 308cm clearance space.
Would that look ok? I find really hard to picture if would look ok .

It’s a really small fridge so Id either put in in right corner or move it as far lef my into the bottle rack as possible and rack around it. You Coyle under the landing have a pull out shelf above the fridge to work as a bar area r→

Thanks Kate , think I may leave the shelves as it’s , and don’t change the measurements and have it as a spirits display and no fridge, It may look batter without the fridge ?

Very nicely done - utilised similar space in a 1914 Edwardian split into three suites, retaining the character with inset panels on the doors. left an exposed cubby in a space similar to that where the red basket is in your photo here, or the under-stair bar example earlier, lit from above for an unexpected display of glass art. Good to see creative practicality!

Hi Karina. Haha very funny re your art piece, KitchenAid! Baking is so much fun; I'm a baker from way way back, and you learn by just jumping in and doing it. About the height of your combined dining/bench table, it's pretty important to have a height that's comfortable for you whilst you work. I'm tall and my family is too, so we had the benchtop height built higher so we are not getting backaches from constantly having to bend over to work. It's really more important for the one who does all or most of the cooking & baking to be comfortable as you can spend long periods of time reading and working out recipes, then putting it all together. Likewise, if you are shorter, choose a table that suits you. Best wishes and keep us posted.

the accidental bonus to this idea was that in order to keep the 60cm depth of counter and fit in the 10cms of splashback storage i had the base and wall cabinets made 10cms deeper and the extra space inside the cabinets is so much better for storage of my big appliances and serving dishes but the same shallow storage can also be achieved on an internal wall by using the inside of the wall (external walls would compromise insulation) similar to these shelves that are only 125mm deep..nb although the small timber shelves are modules that lift out for cleaning one change i would make is to have the "floor" of the shelves with the sliding track installed 2cms higher than the counter to avoid crumbs in the track..next time!!

In my early twenties I designed kitchens for my mother and two aunts (Uncle built them and they worked), but when it came to designing my own - had to fit a constrained space and no possibility of extension - I chewed my lips for ages - like Nicole, I drew and measured ad infinitum, and used graph book walls, views etc. I did one extra thing - which I think worked - I listed all that I wanted to store, and tried to analyse how I liked working in the kitchen. Some things I had to settle for because of space (such as a smaller dishwasher) but most of it has worked. We have a corner pantry, which I (and the cat, husband a bit larger) can walk into, but have not put small appliances in there - they sit in a large drawer beneath the main working bench, which also works well. It all looks good to me Nicole and thinking carefully about needs and how things work in advance usually results in something you'll be happy with. Good luck!

I agree with no fridge. You could incorporate some open shelving to make a display. If possible, discuss with installers how/if the structure will be removable/accessible for cleaning. We have a cellar space underneath our stairs and you need to be able to get in to clean it. Worst case scenario a bottle leaks or breaks, you need access.

Hi, just thinking of the practicality of having a wine bottles under the stairs with a high traffic area with dust etc.
Just a thought but how about swapping shelf & wine bottle space and then putting glass doors over the wine bottle rack which will give it a cabinet feel and look great with glass in the staircase.
