This is the 'black' version. Do you think that it will still get lost and we need something with more punch. Still deciding on best material/colour for splashback. We will have a window over the sink and glass fronted cabinets along the wall behind the island bench. Looking good, like you I'm also doing the concrete floors, different colour kitchen but similar styling. I chose LEDlux piper pendant. (Beacon lighting) Similar colour to the one Pazz chose just a different shape. Really like Pazz choice but maybe use the piper pendants over bench and the other over dining. If the colours are exactly the same it'll look great.

I agree about the idea of putting roller blinds on your door , matching the colours of the others must mention about Annie Sloan paint : it is a chalk paint and you can apply it on any wood surface with at having to use primer, what " seals" the pain is the Annie Sloan wax you apply afterwards. You can Buy Annie Sloan on line , i use Annie Sloan a lot.it is expensive if you want the legs painted black to be smooth, just paint and wax , but one coat of Annie Sloan does not give a good coverage. It you want it " distressed" slightly, then just sand a few it on the edges afterwards, before the waxing With a slight " distressed" leg look, but you would need to give the top of the table a light sanding to " rough it up" on the edges if you want a good solid, coverage, Annie Sloan is not the right choice have a look on eBay, I have just bought some cages light to fit near my table outside ( I was just playing around with them yesterday before the electrician comes toda), they were only like $46 each

We did a kitchen very similar to yours and went thru a similar dilemma last year. Ended up with a large sculptural drum pendant with a diffuser in the centre of kitchen and led recessed spots above island. Spots and drum are on two separate control switches with both fitted with dimmers. Led can be harsh if not able to be dimmed. Plastic on our new dishwasher went from blue to yellow overnight on first day and we had to ask for dimmer. Led great as task lighting but postion them so your head doesn't block light as you work. We play with lighting depending on whether we are working or relaxing. Money we saved on three pendants was spent on one drum.
