Is underfloor ducted Air con a bad idea ??

Hi,
We are looking at installing a ducted reverse cycle air conditioner for our home in Wollongong. Our home is double brick so i feel we will mostly be using the air con during the winter months for heating.
Our house is on bearers and joists so we have the option to do underfloor ducted air con. One installer keeps suggesting we do the ducting in the ceiling, but i feel only cause it will be easier to install for himself.
-Would putting the ducting underfloor be really that bad of an idea?
-And would cooling the house be affected that much if we went with underfloor ducting ?
Thanks
