Hi friends I need ur help to decorate my new house we buyed recently pl help me :))
Comments (2)If you have some furniture to start with, I would just use the basics for now and live in your home for at least 6 months - 12 is better - and get the feel of the house, the lighting, how the rooms are affected by heat and cold, decide how you are going to live in each room and what your needs will be. This will also help you determine traffic flow, which ultimately affects how your arrange your furniture. It is amazing how many times you can change your mind during this initial period. Most importantly, create your home for YOU, not to impress others, you are the one living in it and happiness comes from the peace and contentment you feel in your surroundings. In the meantime, look through photos on Houzz for ideas, save them in your ideas book for reference and use this to build your decorating....See MoreAny decorating ideas for a home with bluestone interior walls
Comments (29)If this was my place, I'd definitely install a skylight (even just a DIY solatube which someone suggested), then depending on budget I'd make these changes:- - replace floors with light colour timber floorboards since they never date - replace furniture with light colour furniture in both lounge and kitchen - paint kitchen and hutch white - add some plants in white pots - go for large light coloured wall art - replace curtains with roller blinds to maximise light I love the bluestone - it will look amazing when you've added some lighter colours to the room!...See MoreNeed some Idea for my home theatre
Comments (3)my suggestion would be to move the kitchen into the alcove, enclose the staircase to create storage underneath and a door to shut off light from the stairs and a door to close off the hall to the bathroom, paint the walls in a gorgeous dark colour and cover all the windows with double block out blinds and curtains, install a suitable screen on the end wall with a ceiling mounted projector and choose furniture that is light and moveable so that the room can also be used for other purpose.... the couches shown in the plan are each 3m long and there's still plenty of space for seating and tables around the walls!!...depends on how many people you expect to entertain but it should be a fabulous room, enjoy...See MoreNeed some ideas on modernising our 70’s brick house
Comments (5)I guess it depends on your budget . I'd tend to initially keep it 'simple' , and do the retaining posts in charcoal , or even a silvery grey . The trim I initially thought charcoal too , but your windows look like they may be white frames , or aluminium , so in that case stick with the white theme too , although the existing garage door/gates in mostly white is then too much white IMO , but you want to change that anyway . Because of the shape , the door is going to be custom -- I'd do a cedar panel type door , or possibly a single piece tilt door may close flush , but I suspect it won't . So clean lines , a clean look to the house , with a darker contrast in the retaining wall . If that doesn't look right , and/or you have a bigger budget , then a new retaining wall in concrete or blocks , with an off-white render , will look classy , but its mixing up eras and styles a bit too much for my liking -- next thing you'll want to square off the garage and all thge windows , and render the whole house . That would work , cost a lot , and look good -- but why ? Apart from the yellow , theres not too much wrong , so embrace it !...See Moremacyjean
