Netty, firstly thank you for posting your question because we are stuck on splashback ideas also and the only difference between our kitchens is that you have opted for gloss on your cupboards and we have gone satin. We are currently waiting on our shi*take bench tops to be installed.... hopefully within the next week. After much googling, hubby has decided that he likes the glass bullet style in a neutral tone (much like the tile you have gone with but in glass obviously) and I am liking the bullet style tile also, just not sure whether glass or a mix of stone, glass etc would work. At least I know we are on the right track now, so thanks again! Can't wait to see a photo when your done (hint hint ;-) )

Thanks all. The kitchen has a window above the sink and a 4.5m stacker door adjacent so the black should be ok. Have decided to go with the black - for back run lower cabinetry and adjacent oven tower Island to be 20mm Cloudburst concrete with white under. . Remaining decisions: Waterfall to one end of island or all just overhang? rear benchtop will be Dekton (porcelain) - black OR a lighter/grey which ties in with the cloudburst??? Decisions, decisions,.......

A couple of things I'd do -- I'd do a teak mantlepiece , to tie it all in . Either the same thickness as the shelves ( looks 25-30mm ? ) or double that . Also , I think the TV is wall mounted , but I'd go higher -- my opinion is that there should be a 30cm gap between the mantlepiece and the TV , or go 'halfway' so theres approx the same distance from the TV up to the ceiling as there is down to the mantlepiece . Again , just a personal preference , but it's best to be looking up a bit , and have the TV angled slightly , OR have a low TV cabinet and sit the TV on it .
