Keep it very clean and neat Across the recess have either a walk-in shower with a 600mm opening OR a glass panel and door. You may consider a seat in the shower ( example on our website ) A recess ( niche ) for shower 300mm high max length Wall hung, all drawer vanity. In-wall cistern toilet suite. Mixer diverter, overhead and handheld shower. Quality tapware, with min 10-year warranty Porcelain floor tiles min 300 x 300. Tile to ceiling, ( unless home has high ceiling, if high, tile to an architrave height ) min tile size 600 x 300, Ceramic to rein in cost

The short answer is yes, acrylic baths do need extra support. Specially when you think about the weight of a person plus all that water. I am a fan of enameled steel baths, they look good for longer and the thing most people are not aware of is that steel baths hold the water temperature better. Enamel baths let the water cool down really fast your bath goes cold. So for me its always steel or stone if you can afford it. Hope this helps, MKG

Bathroom renos can be daunting as there are many things to consider and usually the space can be limiting. Free standing baths are stunning and come in many shapes and sizes. You have mentioned that you and the boys will use the bath, ensure you factor in the "users" height as this will determine the bath size and depth. Firstly is the plumbing remaining in the same position? Floor mounted bath mixers can be installed with a concealed under floor box or the above floor connection method. The concealed box method is advisable before the flooring is installed, and has the benefit of a lower profile floor plate, which is preferred. The above floor method may be done where the first approach is not possible. Free standing bath mixers visually create an impact when paired with the freestanding tub, ensure you have enough room around the tub as it will be difficult to clean if it sits too close to walls and or vanities etc..many freestanding bath mixers offer functional hand showers as well as the spout, ideal for washing soap out of kids hair. I am no expert but I don't think they will work together. To me they are two different styles and if you use both it will look like a compromise of two clashing styles. I think you need to fully embrace the rustic or the vertical, use one of those as your feature and build around it. Question is; which one? Flip a coin?
