It appears that by looking at a lot of the Houzz pictures with kitchens on an already existing beige floor, it looks good to have a similar colour cupboard door, but have a darker bench top and splash back/tiles to off-set the beige colour? however any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Hmm asbestos is insidious. It is not just about wearing ppe as the dust travels and settles elsewhere. That is why it costs so much to remove, they have to seal the area and then vacuum all dust and filter air (hepa filter)before reopening. One has to be careful not to disturb the asbestos, when in any doubt call in professionals, you only get one set of lungs.

What colour are the cabinets, in the photo they have a purple look to them, or a dark brown colour, or black.... hard to tell. The back splash tile is not suitable. appears way too busy. Taking the same concept as the floor tile. use a triangle tile in ONE of the same colours that are in the floor tiles. will add interest from texture and will not compete with your floor tile. But it all depends on the aesthetic that you are after, the age of the home etc.
