Extraction fan cover for a high ceiling

My very clever husband has just built us a beautiful Birch Ply kitchen. It’s not quite finished, just needing splash-back tiles and stainless steel splash-back behind the cooke.
Our problem is how to hide the extraction fan tubing at the top. There was a roof beam inside where the tube goes into the wall…. That is why it’s off centre.
He’s thinking of building a wooden box to cover it and painting the same colour as the walls.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated?
