The tiles from Johnson in the UK are stunning. It appears they only come in large 30x30 ? I was thinking of doing some sort of tile art just in the middle of the backsplash with the rest just plain offwhite tile. However, with this large 30x30 art work, the background tile would have to be cut to size to fit the area I have and might look too choppy???

Nope - with all of those different whites they will react and one of them will look creamy or dirty. Suggest you go with a soft grey to pick out the grey in the benchtop. Matching whites and getting it right is really hard to do successfully when the whites are different materials from different manufacturers. Start looking at some of the greys in Johnson's Spectrum range in the 197 x 97 size, get samples and see how they work with your benchtop and cabinetwork in your kitchen. Yes, I used Granite transformations, back in 2008. The home we purchased had a terracotta coloured laminate on kitchen benches. I had the kitchen transformed for around $4000. Even the realestate agent thought it was real caeserstone, when we sold our property in dec 2018, before looking and noticing the layer of engineered stone, that is placed over the original laminate bench. The thickness of stone layer over laminate is about 10mm. The area covered was about 5 metres of bench. I have attached the before and after. We did not change the cabinets, just took the hutch off the end of island.
