Comments (2)So far you have five colours for your exterior. I'd stick with one of those for the door and window frames. Hogs Bristle 1/4 is a nice neutral....See MoreWhat colour should I paint my exterior?
Comments (118)Thanks Anne and I will look at pale grey given the maintenance considerations. I have already paid for a colour consultant who was great but the Reckless grey she suggested for the house render and basalt gutters/fascia and front wall were too grey when we had the render samples put on and while it had a modern look, it was not giving the beach/coastal feel. I will head back into our inspirations paint store this morning to see if I can find the warm grey colours that have the most similar colour make up to Dune, and go from there. Anne you don't happen to know the dulux colour most close in composition to Colorbond Dune so I know where to start? Thanks again and I would love to hear from anyone who has got a dune roof and hear if they tried light coloured gutters and what render colours they have used on their walls....See MoreWhat colour should I paint the eaves?
Comments (4)Think of introducing a contrast to the white - black being very contrasting, white not being a contrast and soft grey being somewhere in between (but possibly not quite enough, in which case you may need to go for darker shades of grey) . The analogy might be framing a picture or piece of art- If the canvas is really white, you wouldn't choose a white frame. Or putting on eye makeup- if you choose to put a colour on your lids and don't include eyeliner or mascara, your eyes will lack definition ! What colour is the roof ? Also ,have you chosen the white of the exterior yet because these two factors can help in your decision process....See Morewhat colour to paint frame of front door
Comments (7)Agree with Deanne - consistency as always is the best option Frames typically/traditionally will be all the same colour, and if you want to pick out the door differently in a bold colour then go for it, but keep the frames the same and it won't look out of place. I'd also also consider lightening/freshening up the flanking inset panelling too. I also wouldn't be scared of painting the entire door black to make more confident design statement. Best to own it one way or the other. Good luck :) PD www.pauldistefanodesign.com...See More- 2 months ago
