Comments (19)OK it's ugly, but think it through. It looks like you've had to get down quite low to take the photo - when you stand up is it better, or worse? Could a blind or curtain take it out of your view without costing a fortune and if you're really unhappy, move it when you have the cash. Of course, if you have that now, I would get it done straight away so it doesn't become an ongoing issue for you. If you move it now you'll probably never think of it again. If you can't afford to do that, look at the other couple of options I mentioned. A blind that moves off to the side, rather than up and down, could be the go for that. Then I'd be sending the photo you have here to several plumbers and find out who could move it for you and at what price. Obviously they'll have to come an quote properly but if you have someone saying it can't be done and someone saying it can, you need to sort that out first because it may not be an issue at all....See MoreWhat you all think of this house plan?
Comments (45)Sorry, but I'm not a huge fan of the revised floor plan either. It still ignores the fact that the fourth bedroom doesn't really operate as a bedroom, due to the sliding door, absence of a BIR and vast distance from the main bathroom. In terms of the changes to the living area, it's great that the front door now has line of sight to the living area / backyard. But, the kitchen seems to be awkwardly positioned, especially the location of the fridge. If you had a built-in study nook beside the fridge, it may work, but then you'd have to move the BIR in Bed 2 and it could end up quite a small bedroom. I'd be tempted to separate the kitchen and the pantry. I would put a galley style kitchen, with island bench, behind the theatre room wall, then leave a gap for the hallway to continue in a straight line and put the pantry in the "corner" created by the walls for Bed 3 and the garage. But, I'd still really encourage you to give further consideration to the plan from a liveability and, if it's an issue for you, saleability perspective. The plan you posted on Sunday seems like a better starting point to me. The three non-main bedrooms are grouped around the main bathroom. The theatre room leads off the living area, making it easier to use that space as a playroom for future children. And there seems to be ample room to navigate around the dining table....See MoreRetirement floor plan. Thoughts welcome
Comments (70)Blue Gum floorboards how could it not look beautiful!! and yes wheelchair friendly although if we were in a wheelchair I guess we would have to move closer to town and transport and shops as this house was going to be in the country talking of moving... husband has caved and said we can move to the Bay of Islands whoop whoop! he still wants to go to France for 2 years but he said we could build or buy before we go so that changes the type of house now because we were building near a school and families this will be more a beach house that we can leave for the kids to enjoy and various friends who want it while away so I have swapped the master over to be away from the laundry garage door and hot water heat pump which is quite noisy and the guest rooms now have a Jack and Jill bathroom I haven't changed the footprints at all it's still the same size just changed the layout a little bit The bunk room would have a sliding door outside which means you could access that part of the house privately without coming through the front door or the bunk room could be a small kitchenette /come dining room / come lounge room (very small ) and rent it out as a 1 bedroom self contained apartment Once we live there full time ... will upload a photo in the next Post...See MoreKim Black Design
