Thanks Anne and I will look at pale grey given the maintenance considerations. I have already paid for a colour consultant who was great but the Reckless grey she suggested for the house render and basalt gutters/fascia and front wall were too grey when we had the render samples put on and while it had a modern look, it was not giving the beach/coastal feel. I will head back into our inspirations paint store this morning to see if I can find the warm grey colours that have the most similar colour make up to Dune, and go from there. Anne you don't happen to know the dulux colour most close in composition to Colorbond Dune so I know where to start? Thanks again and I would love to hear from anyone who has got a dune roof and hear if they tried light coloured gutters and what render colours they have used on their walls.

I have a similar family room, with big windows and a sliding door and we have block out Roman blinds on them. They sit at the top of the windows most of the time as we don't have any privacy issues with being looked in at by the neighbours. We really only put them down at night in the winter. Ours have a creamy coloured background with taupy wavy lines on them. Very neutral. I never could have imagined that's what I wanted til I saw the fabric. There are so many shades of taupe it is impossible to say without seeing some photos of your home. I would suggest that you start looking at some light teals and pale aquas, but it really depends on what else is in your home. Best of luck, Dr Retro of Dr Retro House Calls

Do you have any furniture you are wanting to put in there ? Does any of it have any colour ? I like the light floor colour , the rest let's just say it is a good neutral base . I'd start with a new front door -- a darker varnished ( glossy ) wooden door , or possibly even a blue to reference your outside . Then add colour via furniture ( or at least cushions ) , rugs , and artwork . Again , maybe several different blues would tie in with the floor , but also the exterior . If there are only blue exterior highlights , you may want to go for warmer colour inside -- reds , yellows , oranges -- again , ties in with the floor . To this end , I can't understand why people go with 117 shades of grey and offwhite and wheat -- live a colourful life is my attitude , as long as it is themed haha !
