Need help with my family room.
Comments (3)your room looks normal considering you've got young kids believe me mine was worse when they were younger .. need to teach them to clean up though in saying that I've been unsuccessful with my 20 years old lol she leaves her stuff everywhere.. you're lacking storage..may be a floor to ceiling unit? TV can go on it? at the bottom ..cupboards with doors for kids to stow away their toys? you've got quite dark pieces and a dark rug ? does the room get much sunlight ? the barn door would be nice you can leave it opened or closed as you wish.....See MoreNeed help with accessories for family room
Comments (11)Some great bones to work with - love your leather sofas! Our suggestion would be some carefully chosen pieces to add personality and texture. Art is a very personal choice, but it's a great idea to start with a piece you love, and work the rest of your room around that. Our contemporary perspex artworks would look fabulous in your style of setting - a treescape such as this one would tie in with the natural tones and organic feel you've created. We create each piece bespoke, to order, and you'll find photos of a variety of work here on Houzz, and much more in our online gallery: http://www.signarure.com.au...See MoreHelp us choose the right spot for furniture for our family room
Comments (43)No single chairs (yet). The blue lounges are 100cm deep by approx 198cm long. I did place them adjacent one another to see if I could have that configuration but the one against the external wall extended past the door opening and it just didn't look right. So I presumed a cnr sofa with the short side against the external wall or sofa with chaise would probably be the best option. It is possible that I could get a 2 seater but would have the challenge to make sure it complemented the three seater rather than clash. There appears to be more choices for rhf sofas than lhf....See MoreFamily Room Layout Help
Comments (10)thanks for the prompt response!!! ;) existing slider has the views of the backyard and looks west. The Option 2 would reduce the light coming in from the South which is setback 3m to a timber fence and a concrete pavement (no real view) Option 1 has the back to the view but creates more openness in the house Option 2 allows views of the backyard/alfresco but cuts the room off....would need a modern low lounge........See MoreJulie Welch
