Need ideas for a multi purpouse room for teens
Comments (9)1. Delete current door location and have a full wall on the MPR/Entry side. Relocate the access to the MPR/Dining wall, but choose a flush cavity sliding door so that you don't loose any wall space (in the MPR) against which you can place furniture. The cavity door can be as wide as you want or even double cavity doors and flush ones will be completely inset in the walls when opened creating a seamless opening to main living area 2. MPR is 5.3 wide so big enough to create two zones: A. a lounge area with tv unit (built-in with plenty of storage if you can) against the garage wall, an L-shaped couch with the return/chaise part against the kitchen wall, one or two bean bags near the window wall and a large rug to frame it all B. second area would be a built-in desk (with extra storage and shelves if possible) along the full length of the entry wall, which is wide enough for two computer stations (don't forget your data points) and when the door is open you can see what they're up to from the kitchen ;) Good luck!...See MoreWall art ideas
Comments (17)Hi Zac, If the tiles are grey then that sounds even better as I thought there was a little too much going on colour wise. It is so hard to tell by a photo sometimes. It would be a shame to change the coffee table, perhaps something organic on it like a wooden bowl or similar would help a little. You need to tie the dining table in somehow because the two rooms for now look like two different homes. The dining table has a country theme whilst your living area looks ultra modern. I see you have a lovely cane basket with a plant in it next to the console table, that sort of thing will help tie the rooms together. I could be wrong but you might find it easier to get a beautiful glossy black or white dining table as it would go with the rest of your decor but then you'd have to cover or paint the bench seat. Decisions, decisions!!!! Love to see pictures of what you decide to do, best of luck. Cheers, Barbara...See MoreIdeas on art and rug in living room
Comments (26)Tsk tsk... Art at the least is something which resonates with you, for any reason, great Art is a bit different..... Buy a prepared canvas and some colours you like and have at it. Then hang it up on the wall.... I would suggest a large horizontal canvas close to the width of the sofa for that wall....See MoreDesigning living room around wall art - help
Comments (7)To me , I'd want to know the style and era of the house , and the look of the other rooms , and even the size of the room . On it's own , with that art , and white walls and timber floor , I'd say do a white leather suite ( or 5 or 6 matching white leather chairs ) and a large screen TV on another wall , and a large coffee table in either white gloss , or black frame and smoke glass top . And then set it off with 3 or 4 green leafy potplants ( all different plants and different heights ) in pots in similar blue and green and mustard hues as the art . Any windows do in light wooden ventians ( white slats would be overkill without seeing the room IMO ) or black as a contrast . Add a mustard or jute rug . BUT that may not suit the rest of the house , or the size or shape of the room ....See Moregrobby
