I love your color scheme. How did you decide on that granite? I found this website too . Perhaps those cabinets are not available here but just where you are. either way I can find something similiar. Did you have any issues with ordering..getting parts.. assemely? Do you have any helpful tips for designing ? Did you actually hang them yourself? Is there anything about the cabinets that you find defective or insufficient or think could be better? In the same position, except we have renovated our beach house, 3 bed + study on the Sunshine Coast. Have no idea where to start. Roller blinds have been suggested throughout but sounds kind of boring??

Hi Bradley, firstly what a beautiful home you have developed. As a window covering professional, I would pose you a number of questions before giving any advice. So firstly consider what the room is being used for (it may seem obvious to you - but everyone is different), secondly what is the style/concept/mood you are attempting to pull together, thirdly what obstacles are present in the window. All these items a Window treatment specialist would review with you prior to making suggestions. Of course - lastly, what is your budget. To give an example - in the bedroom- you may need it to have a total block out facility for sleep, (Plantation Shutters wont provide total block), or maybe you want to highlight the view (Plantation Shutters are for closing it off), and as you have mentioned - you would have to mount it onto the architraves (would look unprofessional if you stuck up plantation shutters over the archs) and getting to the sash windows would be difficult to open and close the shutters. In your case (my opinion only!) I would look at Roman Blinds for the bedroom (Face Fix above the windows, and over the window architraves ), perhaps with a sheer behind to filter the view, still giving you filtered light during the day - but providing privacy. In the other rooms a roman blind is also applicable (again because of your sash windows face mounted and covering the Archs when closed.) There is a lot to consider - so recommend getting some help! I'm a big fan of plantation shutter. They look beautiful and are pretty simple to clean. The only thing to be aware of is if you have internal fly screens fitted and then have plantation shutter fitted, you may not be able to remove the fly screen from the window because of the plantation frame. This means the inside of that window can no longer be properly cleaned. Please bear this in mind. Stay Clear Window Cleaning
