My view is that bags, schoolbags, hats, coats etc should hang in the wardrobe of the person they belong to. They should be responsible for them and that way they don’t clutter up shared spaces such as an entryway. As for keys I don’t believe they should ever be somewhere obvious. Too easy for burglars to pick them up and make off with a car etc. It happens all the time where I live. They should be somewhere not obvious but known to all the residents.
