Great read Adam, we definitely need more transparency around the building process, terms, quoting and expectations etc..

Central Glass and Aluminium

Great article - Builders usually know what they have always worked with - if clients have ideas about their windows and doors, they are best to seek out a window and door fabricator who can create what they want as the customer - not just accept what they are quoted by the Builder. NOT all windows and doors are created equally - in size, configuration, quality and product. They can have a dramatic effect on the feel and design of the building if they are not right.

Don't forget screens, this is often not included in the window quote and can be a costly addition after the fact.

Do your research around what you want, best new tool for us as a fabricator is your design idea-book, or idea board to assist us and designers help you get your dream home.

Don't be afraid to mix and match windows - big (commercial windows and doors) to create the WOW and cost saving (domestic or residential windows and doors) in those functional areas where dramatic statements are not required.
