Archadeck of Central Connecticut
To ensure that the stairs ended (or began!) at just the right point at the edge of the patio, Archadeck of Central CT began building the stairs at the bottom and worked our way up. This is a reversal of the usual process, and it worked out just right. The new stairs meet the patio at a place called the "soldier course," which is the contrasting rim of brick around the patio edge. We installed Fortress LED lighting on the stair risers for safety after dark.

The deck offers a blend of mid-century, new, antique and re-purposed furnishings. A variety of finishes and textures create an eclectic and timeless look. Enjoy morning coffee on the deep seating pieces, sun worship on the sleek concrete chaise, napping on the hammock, cocktails at the butcher block bar and fine dining under the sail all while embracing nature.

Photo by: Shawn St. Peter Photography - What designer could pass on the opportunity to buy a floating home like the one featured in the movie Sleepless in Seattle? Well, not this one! When I purchased this floating home from my aunt and uncle, I didn’t know about floats and stringers and other issues specific to floating homes. Nor had I really thought about the hassle of an out of state remodel. Believing that I was up for the challenge, I grabbed my water wings, sketchpad, and measuring tape and jumped right in!
If you’ve ever thought of buying a floating home, I’ve already tripped over some of the hurdles you will face. So hop on board - hopefully you will enjoy the ride.
I have shared my story of this floating home remodel and accidental flip in my eBook "Sleepless in Portland." Just subscribe to our monthly design newsletter and you will be sent a link to view all the photos and stories in my eBook.

Archadeck of West Central and Southwest Ohio
This new Huber Heights home was devoid of any sort of outdoor living accommodations. The blank slate backyard space left a lot of room for vision and leaves more room for improvement after this deck was completed.
Archadeck of Birmingham
This amazing outdoor living combination space delivers everything you could ever want to enjoy outdoor living. The space is designed with a spacious deck and adjoining screened porch that contains a cozy outdoor fireplace within.
The deck was built using low-maintenance TimberTech decking from their Tropical collection and we also used a TimberTech rail cap atop PT rails with Deckorators balusters for the railing. The deck skirting is all PT wood.

Archadeck of Central GA
Along with redecking this Kathleen, GA, deck, we also expanded an area of the deck in order to enter through the master bedroom’s French doors, and a gate to keep the homeowner's pet secure while enjoying the deck.
The original deck and the new extension was finished with TimberTech Legacy decking in Pecan. Choosing a low-maintenance decking board, such as TimberTech, means the deck will never need to be painted, stained, scraped or power-washed. Nor will it warp, cup, split or rot — leaving more time for enjoyment and less time worrying about maintenance!

This lovely, multi-level deck in Lebanon, TN, features a custom pergola for shade. We also included a dry deck water drainage system with beadboard ceiling, LED lights, and custom storage for the homeowner’s lawn equipment.

Archadeck of Austin
For this stunning, sweeping deck located in Cat Mountain North, the homeowner's chose AZEK, a cellular PVC decking product, for their new decking material. To complement the Autumn Chestnut color deck boards, they selected a Solutions aluminum railing system in bronze. What a difference! The new railings and pickets are darker and thinner, allowing a clean view from the deck and from within the house. The Solutions aluminum railing is an excellent choice for another reason: it will never rust and has a lifetime warranty (as opposed to a 15-year warranty for steel).

The new sliding door installed in the kitchen now opens onto this large deck, creating a wonderful place to dine, entertain and access the back yard. The sunburst pattern echoes the original trim at the peak of the front facade.
